10 tips to make your meeting fun |
You have your meeting going but already ten minutes in people are moving to the back row, texting on their smart phones ,doodling on their company pads and staring off into space. Well get there attention with these meeting activities below that will keep them interacting and awake.
- Social Networking Period- Have people meet before the meeting to introduce them selves and get to know one another.
- The Name Game- An alternative to the networking is the name game. This way everyone has to pay attention. Go around the room and have every person introduce them selves. This is a great way to meet and find out a little bit about everyone.
- Food and Beverage- Have coffee and baked goods if its morning meeting that way you can guarantee no one will fall asleep.
- Get people involved- Have people work in groups, role play or come up with skits. This won’t only help you get peoples attention but people tend to remember more when they are challenged to work with the knowledge that has just been presented to them.
- Have a good amount of breaks- Breaks are a good idea to have just so people can get up stretch there legs or mingle with the people in their meeting.
- Games- Throw a few games in there to get people thinking, maybe even give out prizes. People always try harder when there is something to gain.
- Exercize break- This may sound a little silly but having the people in your meeting get up and run around a bit or even do a few toe touches will increase the lively hood of your meeting.
- Change seats- Have attendees move around the room and find another seat. This will introduce them to a new set of people they can network with.
- Discussion – Hold a discussion this will give people a chance to interact and let out their opinion on the subjects in your meeting.
- Have a door prize- It could be something as simple as a t-shirt saying “I did it”. Put your own spin on it make them want to come to another one of your meetings again!
Get your attendees thinking, moving, shaking and most of all keep them attentive. Make sure that you have that meeting that everyone walks away with having learned something.
